The Journey

Join international yoga teacher Joan Hyman for an adventure that blends deep practice, cultural discovery, and the wilderness of the Himalayas.
This trek offers a seamless transition from the calm embrace of Purna Yoga Retreat into the heart of the Annapurna region. Our adventure starts and concludes at Purna Yoga Retreat, where nourishing meals and serene surroundings provide a gentle welcome and farewell. In between, we venture onto the spectacular and less-traveled Mardi Himal Trek, a path that winds through enchanting forests, opens onto ridges with awe-inspiring Himalayan views, and culminates in the solitude of Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,450m) - as close as one can get to the sacred peak of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).

Along the way, we pass through traditional Gurung villages, sip organic tea in stone-paved Lwang, and experience both the stillness of remote trails and the warmth of Nepali culture. Joan’s daily yoga and meditation practices support body and mind throughout the journey, helping us integrate the outer adventure with an inner one.
